Asunto Studio, acting as Nine Brain’s in-house agency, has lead creative direction, design, content strategy, and creative production for the project since inception. From the start, Asunto Studio positioned the brand to stand out in a very competitive Hawaiian travel segment. With an openness to push design and strategic lines beyond the cliched boundaries one often finds in the hospitality industry, Pacific 19 stands as a unique reminder of originality in the hospitality space.

Renovation designs

The renovation of the property was under a tight 7-month timeline to complete the 122 room repositioning. Acquired as an outdated motel, the objective was to turn the property into a boutique hotel targeting the younger travel segment. As creative director for the project, Asunto Studio was able to deliver a clear and consistent creative vision that facilitated quick decision making between the various interior design and development teams to achieve the timeline. Additionally, AS contributed to various architectural solutions, completed the signage design, and led art direction during the renovation. The result is a compeling blend of Hawaiian hospitality and contemporary style, offering guests a unique experience in the market.

Content strategy & development

Asunto Studio leads content strategy for Pacific 19. Seeing a surprising lack of high quality, well curated Hawaiian travel content online, the brand's goal has been to leverage social media and SEO-driven web content to reach far beyond the limited number of followers for a new brand. The brand has frequently achieved double digit engagement percentages in social media, and blog posts that garner as much traffic as the main hotel site, attracting top of funnel users who would otherwise never have encountered the brand and property.

Social media

Asunto Studio manages Pacific 19's social media. With its team of photo and video editors, and graphic designers, as well as its network of partner video and photo creators, Asunto Studio has been able to build a significant and flexible creative archive to support its marketing and content strategy goals with a very efficient budget.

Website development

Asunto Studio was creative director for the initial website development process, leading the design vision with the third party development firm. Asunto Studio continues to update the site with ongoing content and design language to keep the brand communication fresh and clear.

Visual Identity & Collateral

Following the naming process with local creative team, Welcome Stranger, Asunto Studio designed the visual identity, collateral, and merchandising to create a cohesive brand presence, inspired by the coordinates of the 19th parallel the name alludes to.
